Is It Faster to Plant New Grass Versus Trying to Deal with Multiple Brown Spots?
As you ponder how to deal with brown spots in grass, planting new grass might sound like a good idea, but it’s not necessarily the best in each case. While new grass can almost certainly make your lawn more appealing right off the bat, it doesn’t solve the underlying issue. You can, of course, consider treating or replacing some of the soil and adding readymade grass to avoid having to wait for the new grass to grow, but that won’t guarantee ideal results either.
Dealing with multiple brown spots can be as simple as treating your lawn with a vitamin C or kojic acid formula, which are both considered good solutions for improving your lawn and strengthening your grass. Soy based formulas, azelaic acid and even the use of lasers has been noted as effective against brown spots, although some methods might be more expensive than others.
Of course, getting through that process can be somewhat more time consuming and difficult, but it will strengthen your existing lawn so you won’t have to deal with the same issues again. Also, training your dog to avoid the lawn and placing a fence around it to prevent other pests from getting on your grass can be a good countermeasure as well.
