The important thing to remember about soil is that you always need to aim for balance. The concentration of these elements will determine how easily the water will flow through the soil and how quickly it dries off. Too much sand can make watering your soil harder, while too much clay can lead to the soil retaining a significant amount of water – to the point where the roots of your plants and vegetables will become overwhelmed by it.
