Can You Treat Grass for Dog Urine or Should You Reseed?

Dog urine can make things very difficult when you’re trying to ensure your lawn grows healthy and uniform. Brown spots can appear on your lawn in the areas where your k9 companion did her business, and the grass can soon become sick and die.dog urine spots on grass neutralize revive products

If the dog urine hasn’t been there very long, you can typically treat grass for dog urine by spraying Revive products or water on it to neutralize the negative effects of the dog urine and wash it off. Doing that right away will ensure that the grass remains healthy even if it was briefly exposed to the excessive nitrogen contained in the urine.

Of course, this won’t work all the time. If the urine already penetrated the soil and it has been on the grass blades for quite a while, it will cause your grass to become sick and eventually die. The grass can recover as long as it’s healthy, watered properly and treated with the right type of organic fertilizer. Also, it’s a good idea to use natural methods to keep pests such as insects that can devour your grass or carry diseases.

When your lawn is too far gone, it’s important to reseed or to treat it with the right type of sod. Sometimes parts of the dead lawn can simply be removed and reseeded. Be sure to check the soil’s pH before reseeding and add professional grade organic fertilizer to the mix to ensure that the grass grows green and healthy.
